Saint of the Day

What is a Saint of the Day?

What is a Saint?

Saints were regular human people, just like us, who had an extraordinary love for God when they lived on earth. They loved God so much that many of them faced great hardships during their lifetime because of their dedication to Him. Some Saints even died because of their love for God.

Do Catholics pray to Saints?

This is one of my favorite questions. Before I became a Catholic (at the ripe ol' age of 21!) I struggled with this question as well.

Catholics pray to God and believe in the Triunal God - The Father, The Son and The Holy Spirit. Just like we ask our friends and family to pray for us on earth, Catholics ask the Saints in Heaven to pray for us, too. Saints' "loving their neighbor" transcends into Heaven and they love to do God's will and help us here on earth!

Why remember Saints?

Remembering these special Christians and learning about hardships they faced during their lives can give us inspiration to fight whatever battle we may be facing in our lives, too.
